INTRODUCTION TO CLAY: $200 PER  6 WEEK SESSION

Adult level beginning  clay class.

Learn a little bit of wheel-throwing AND a little bit of handbuilding!

Brand new to clay and want to learn a little of both kinds of skills? Been away from clay for awhile and looking to start back up? Completed our Throwing I but want more time at the intro level before moving on?

Come learn to work with clay at The Muse!
This class is designed to provide students with a brief introduction to both sets of ceramics skills: wheel-throwing and hand-building. Students will spend 2-3 classes learning how to throw on the wheel, as well as 2-3 classes learning the basics of hand-building. Thanks to Ghost, everyone seems to know what wheel-throwing is. Hand-building includes things like building with clay slabs or pinching clay to build pots. They’re important skills that many students are able to pick up faster than throwing. This is a new class offering for us, and we hope you like it!

Students in this class must be at least 16 years old. Students 12+ may be admitted with parent participation

All of our classes are designed with beginners in mind. Our classes are designed to teach you the skills you can build on! Classes in our clay studio are more project oriented than our painting and drawing classes, but we want all of our students to have fun!  If you have a class you want to take but don’t see it offered here let us know! All classes include all supplies and materials unless noted otherwise.
