Don Hall & Cathi Newlin

October through December 2021

This exhibition of work by Don Hall and Cathi Newlin was delayed several times due to COVID19. The delay, however has resulted in a totally different show from what it would have been a year ago. Both artists have been locked down in their studios, creating new work for a year-and-a-half. Not just more time, but the solitude had a profound change in how the work was created, and it’s final composition.

Don Hall currently paints self portraits exclusively, often inserting himself into the paintings of some of the master artists of the past and present.

Cathi Newlin works in clay, and currently focuses her subject on animals, bit real , and imagined. Sometimes the creatures are quick clay “sketches” just for the mud-pieĀ  joy, to commentary on the interesting times we live in.
